Services
You don't need a designer, a developer and a hosting person. I handle the full build and explain each decision in plain words.
Business websites
A fast, good-looking site that tells people what you do and gets them to contact you, book or buy.
- Custom design that fits your brand
- Editable pages, so you can change text and photos yourself
- Search basics, analytics and a contact form wired to your inbox
Web apps
Logins, dashboards, booking systems, client portals. Anything that needs a database behind it.
- User accounts and roles
- Payments with Stripe
- Admin pages for your team
Online stores
Shopify setups and custom storefronts, including inventory, shipping rules and pre-orders.
Integrations & automation
Connect the tools you already pay for. Forms to spreadsheets, orders to email, data from one system into another, on a schedule.
Rescue & refresh
Slow, broken or hard-to-update site? I audit it, fix what matters most and tell you honestly whether to rebuild.
Site maintenance
Monthly updates, backups, uptime monitoring and small changes, so your site keeps working long after launch.
Pricing
Every project gets one fixed written quote after your intro call and prototype. No hourly billing, no surprise invoices. These are typical starting points so you know the range before we talk.

Run a business I'd use? Part of your project can be paid in trade. We agree on what it's worth up front, and it goes in writing with the rest of the agreement.
After launch
Site maintenance
A website is like a car. It runs best with regular check-ups. I keep yours safe, fast and up to date, so you can focus on your business. Optional, month to month, cancel anytime.
What's included every month
- Domain and hosting looked after: I keep renewals on track and handle the technical side. You pay those small bills directly, usually $10–20 a year for the domain.
- Security and software updates so nothing breaks or goes out of date
- Daily backups, so anything can be restored
- Uptime monitoring. If the site goes down, I hear about it first and fix it
- Up to 1 hour of changes for whatever you need that month
- A short monthly report with your visitors and anything I fixed
What an hour of changes looks like
- Swap in new photos or a seasonal banner
- Update prices, hours or your menu
- Add a new team member or testimonial
- Post an event or announcement
- Fix a typo or rewrite a paragraph
Good to know
- Your first 2 weeks after launch are free fixes, maintenance or not.
- Unused hours don't roll over, and bigger changes like new pages get their own quote.
- Without maintenance, you still own everything and can update text and photos yourself.
- Nonprofit rates available.

Bio
I'm Annalee, a full-stack software engineer.
I design and build the whole site myself, from layout to database to launch, so you deal with one person the entire time.
I build with modern, reliable tools like React, Next.js, Python and Stripe, on hosting that won't disappear next year.
My day job is building data systems for scientists. I care about the parts nobody sees: forms that work, data that stays correct and pages that load fast.
I like working with small businesses and nonprofits because the website really matters to them. A good site can fill a calendar, bring in donations or save someone hours of admin every week.
I'll explain every decision in plain words, answer your emails, and make sure you can update your own site once I hand it over. If you're not sure what you need yet, that's fine. Figuring it out together is part of the job.

FAQ
How long does a website take?
Most business sites go live about five weeks after you send your request. Web apps depend on scope; I'll give you a timeline with the quote.
Does everyone get a free prototype?
I make a free prototype after a short intro call, for projects that are a good fit and ready to start within about two months. I only make a few each month, so each one gets real attention. If your timing is further out, I'll put you on the waitlist and make it when you're closer to starting. The prototype is a preview link, and the design becomes yours once you book.
Can I update the site myself?
Yes. I set up an editor for the pages you'll change often, and you get a short guide and a walkthrough call at handover.
Do I own the code and domain?
Yes. Your domain and hosting accounts are in your name from the start, and you pay those small bills directly. Once the final payment is made, your site goes live and the code and admin logins are handed over to you.
How do you keep my site and my customers safe?
Every site gets a secure connection (the padlock in the browser), trusted hosting, regular security updates and daily backups, so anything can be restored. Payments go through services like Stripe or Square, so card numbers never touch your site. Forms only collect what you actually need, and I add a plain-language privacy policy.
Do I pay for my domain and hosting?
Yes, directly to the provider, so the accounts stay in your name. A domain is usually $10–20 a year. Many small sites can be hosted free, and I'll tell you exact costs in your quote. Tools like booking or online store services have their own monthly plans, which you also pay directly.
Who has access to my accounts?
You do. Your domain, hosting and any payment or booking accounts are in your name. You add me as a user, so I never need your passwords, and you can remove my access anytime. I use two-factor sign-in on everything I touch.
Is there a contract? How does payment work?
Yes, a short plain-English agreement we both sign before work starts. It lists what I'll build, the price, the timeline, how many rounds of changes are included and that everything becomes yours once the final payment is made. Payment is usually 50% to start and 50% before launch, and larger projects split into milestones. The first 50% is refundable if you cancel after the free prototype but before work starts, and non-refundable once work has started. Your site goes live, and you get full access to the site, code and admin logins, once the final payment is complete. If you want something outside the agreement, I'll quote it in writing before doing it. No surprise charges.
What's your refund policy?
The prototype is free, so you see my work before you pay anything. After the prototype, if you pay the first 50% and then cancel before work starts, you get it back in full. Once work has started, the first 50% is non-refundable, since that time is already set aside for your project. Site maintenance is month to month: cancel anytime, and it stops at the end of that month.
I already have a site. Can you fix it instead?
Often, yes. I start with a short audit and tell you plainly whether a fix or a rebuild costs less over time.
What do I need to get started?
Just the request form. Links to your current website or Google Business page help, along with any logo, photos or colors you already use. If you don't have those yet, we'll figure them out together.
Do you write the text for my site?
I'll shape and edit what you give me so it reads clearly and works for search. If you'd like me to write everything from scratch, I can add that to the quote.
What about photos?
Your own photos always work best. If you don't have any, I can set you up with good free stock images or point you to a local photographer.
Will my site show up on Google?
Yes. Every site is built for search engines (SEO) from day one, so Google can find it, understand it and show it to the right people.
- Clear page titles and descriptions, so each page shows up with a good preview in search results.
- Fast and mobile-friendly, which Google rewards, and which keeps visitors from leaving.
- The words your customers search for, like "massage therapist in Kailua," worked naturally into your pages.
- Clean structure behind the scenes: proper headings, image descriptions, a sitemap and business details search engines can read.
- Local search set up: your Google Business Profile connected, and your name, address and phone the same everywhere.
- Google Search Console and analytics, so you can see how people find you.
Search results build over weeks to months, and no one can honestly promise you the #1 spot. Reviews, up-to-date info and fresh content help most over time. Site maintenance includes a monthly report on visitors and searches, and I can quote ongoing SEO work if you want to go further.
What if I need changes after launch?
You get 2 weeks of free fixes. After that, you can update text and photos yourself, use monthly site maintenance, or ask me for a quote on bigger changes.
Do you have a referral deal?
Yes. Refer a business to me, and once they sign and pay their first 50%, you get a free month of site maintenance. If you're not on maintenance yet, the free month is waiting for you whenever you start. Ask them to put your name in the "Who referred you?" box on the request form so I know to thank you.
Can I pay with a trade?
Often, yes. If you offer something I'd use, like tattoos, massages, photography or your products, part of your project can be paid in trade. We agree on its value before work starts and put it in the written agreement, along with when you'll provide it. Check the trade box on the request form and tell me what you have in mind.
Do you offer nonprofit rates?
Yes. Mention that you're a nonprofit on the request form and I'll include the discount in your quote.
Do you work with clients outside my area?
Yes. Everything runs over video calls and shared preview links, so location doesn't matter.
